FORD 4.6 98-11 CHT (Cylinder Head Temp Sensor) Wiring Harness Removal.

  • Unplug the sensor wiring from right front of the engine as shown in image 1.

  • Remove the intake or alternator to access the sensor so it can be unplugged.

  • Place wiring pigtail in the box with your harness.

Installing a simplified harness and tuned ECM for 98-02 Crown Vic/Grand Marquis. The P71 harness and ECM include wiring for the MAF and air temperature sensor.

FORD 4.6 98-11 CHT (Cylinder Head Temp Sensor) Wiring Harness Install.

  • Plug the pigtail into the black connector located on the engine harness.

  • Remove your CHT sensor or consider purchasing a new one if necessary. The CHT sensor will connect to the designated white connector and will need to be routed inside the car for proper installation.

Instructions for installation after SKIM removal, including disconnecting battery cables, disconnecting SKIM module, installing PCM, connecting ground and battery cables, and starting vehicle, with illustrations showing unplugging wires from the SKIM module under the steering column.
