This harness is built for one thing: keeping your engine running while the rest of the car is falling apart. I’ve taken the factory 4.2L wiring and stripped it down to the absolute bare essentials so you aren't fighting electrical gremlins in the heat of a match.
Every inch of unnecessary wiring has been removed. No air bags, no ABS, no body modules—just the vital circuits needed to fire up and stay running. It’s a slimmed-down, rugged setup designed to get you through the tech line and keep you moving until the last hit.
The $350 Flat-Rate Service Includes:

Simple 2-Wire Hookup: Designed for a basic Key-On Power and Ground connection.
⚠️ Important: ECM Requirement
This simplified harness will not work with a stock ECM. Your computer must be tuned or have a VATS delete to run.

🛠 How It Works
To use this service, you must mail in your engine harness.
What to Send: Your engine harness and your throttle pedal wiring.
Important Note: If you don't send the pedal wiring, you will be responsible for connecting it yourself, along with the engine harness and the BLUE ECM connector (which is originally hooked to the body/fuse wiring).
User Responsibilities: You will be responsible for hotwiring your own fuel pump and running your main battery power and grounds.
⏳ Turnaround Time
7-14 Days After Receiving: Once your harness arrives at our shop, it typically takes 7 to 14 business days to build, test, and ship your completed standalone harness back out.
One-Man Operation: Backwoods Racing is a dedicated one-man show. This ensures that every single harness gets the absolute highest attention to detail, quality control, and care—though high order volumes can occasionally affect timing. We appreciate your patience as we build it right.
